Background and experience:
I have been working in healthcare for over fifteen years and began working as a counsellor at Leeds Counselling in 2008. During this time I have had the opportunity to work with people from many different backgrounds who came to counselling with a huge variety of life experiences, an aspect of my job that I really enjoy.
Some people have come for a short period of counselling and have got what they needed from 6 or 10 sessions whereas others have wanted to work for longer and we have worked together for over 2 years. I have experience of working with people experiencing a range of difficulties such as anxiety, depression, relationship issues, grief and loss, low self-confidence or low self-esteem, abuse and bullying.
Please see my website for more information.
My training is in the Relational Approach which draws on a number of different counselling theories and has human relationships at its very heart.
I do not have a rigid way of working and will use my skills and experience to work with you in order to best support you to get the most out of your counselling and your life.
Our first session is an opportunity for us to meet and talk together about what has led you to seek counselling. It is also an opportunity to get an idea of how it would be for us to work together and whether or not counselling could be a useful way forward for you. Again please have a look at my website to read more about how I work.
